Uttar Pradesh Election 2022 Live Updates: The first phase of the assembly polls is scheduled for Shamli, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The first phase of the seven-phase assembly elections will cover the ‘Jat-dominant belt’ of the western part of Uttar Pradesh. As many as 623 candidates are in the fray for the first phase of the assembly polls in 58 seats of 11 UP districts. Nearly 2.27 crore voters will decide the fate of these candidates. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Nearly 20% voter turnout was recorded in UP so far according to the latest trends of the Election Commission, a voter turnout of 20.03% has been recorded in Uttar Pradesh till now.

Nearly 8% voter turnout by 9 am in 58 seats of west UP
Despite cold day conditions and foggy weather in western Uttar Pradesh, the voter turnout remained over 8% in most of the Uttar Pradesh districts. The polling percentage in Agra and Mathura was 8.1% and 8.4%, respectively.

In the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, 58 assembly constituencies in 11 districts will go to the polls. As many as 623 candidates are in the fray in the first phase and around 2.27 crore people are eligible to vote in this phase.
